Chelsea and I have spent the week traveling. We started out in Targu Jiu with our dear friends Pastor Vio, Ema, their kids and Ema’s sweet mother. We were so blessed to be able to stay with them for a few days in their beautiful home that Vio spent 7 years building. We arrived on Saturday evening and went to church with them on Sunday, where two ladies were baptized. Chel and I got to share a couple of songs, two in Romanian and one in English (How He Loves, by John Mark McMillin). A lady that I had met a few weeks ago when I was in Targu Jiu with the CLS team had remembered me and told me that she was really blessed by our singing. She said that she felt the Holy Spirit when we sang. She also told me that she had a son that was 21 and that she would really like it if we met and maybe got married. ha! That wouldn’t be the first time that a Romanian mother has told me that she wanted me to marry her son…oh dear.

Ema and Vio took us in like we were family. We went exploring thru the Valley and picked wild berries, we drank water from a brook; we crossed a river with bare feet and tried to climb up some mountains. We are now adventure women. We even experienced the birth of a calf! While I was videotaping the whole birthing process from the second floor window, chelsea was taping closer, behind the fence and eventually got called to help. It took 5 people to help with the poor calf’s birth. Nicolas, the owner of the cow let us name the little calf, Ionut. It was seriously one of the most amazing things I had ever experienced. Life. Life is amazing. Life is beautiful. Amazing things really do happen every day.

Chelsea and I took a train from Targu Jiu to Bucharest on Thursday. Saying goodbye to Ema, Vio and the kids was so very hard. They are some of the most amazing people that I have ever known. They are hardworking, God fearing, genuinely kind people. I really do pray that I get to see them again soon. Anyway, Chelsea and I met a few students from Bucharest on the train. They were really great people, they let us practice our Romanian on them and they even helped us learn some new words…Apparently, we were hilarious, because none of us could stop laughing. Ana Maria, the girl that we met, told me at the end of the trip that her cheeks hurt from laughing so much. At one point on the journey, Chelsea asked them if they believed in God. They all replied that they believe that something is up there, but they’re not sure what and they don’t know if ‘it’ even cares. One of the guys said that he thinks that religion is complete bull**** and Chelsea agreed and said that we don’t like religion, but we believe in God. We continued to talk about our beliefs about heaven, hell, faith, and the mercy of God. Can anyone say Divine Appointment? I really hope and pray that the Lord continues to work on their hearts and shows them that He’s not about religion, but about grace, mercy and love.
